Erin O’Brien is a Certified Personal Trainer and the founder of WiseMoves Kingston. Erin specializes in fitness training for special populations such as older adults, and individuals of all ages living with Parkinson’s Disease. Her ultimate goal is to provide an encouraging, supportive, and specialized training environment for people with movement disorders and mobility problems.
Erin has been working with personal training clients and teaching group classes since 2015. In addition to holding a Diploma in Fitness & Health Promotion, and being a Personal Trainer, Erin is a PWR!Moves Parkinson’s Fitness Instructor, a Common Movement Disorder Land & Aquatic Instructor, a Seniors Fitness Instructor, and an Urban Poling instructor.
Erin’s passion is fueled by constantly witnessing positive change in the individuals with whom she works. For Erin, there is nothing more fulfilling than guiding her clients away from underestimating their abilities to a new place where they are able to see how much they can do, and the goals they can achieve. By creating exercise routines that are both uplifting and sensitive to unique conditions, she strives to inspire her clients to move with more strength and confidence, to do more of the things they want to do, and to improve their overall outlook on life.
Fun Fact: Erin grew up as a very active individual, eventually shifting from playing recreational sports to gaining competitive elite high level sports experience. Erin was invited to play varsity basketball at Humber College as a “walk-on” rookie in the fall of 2013. Unfortunately, a series of concussions cut Erin’s varsity experience short (and now prevent her from participating in contact sports). Her energetic enthusiasm and unfailing love of sport and fitness found a new home, though. Now, she pour heart and soul into ensuring that special populations and underserved groups have access to the amazing health benefits of training and exercise.
